Good for snapshots, extremely compact, no memory expansion!

The very small Nikon Coolpix S02 is an ideal companion when traveling only want to take snapshots. With 13 megapixels and 3x optical zoom, the camera provides better images than with most smart phones, but worse pictures than with larger compact cameras.

With outstanding image quality, the Coolpix S02 can not just shine. Photos are still very neat in bright conditions (daylight). Standing less good lighting conditions, such as poorly lit rooms available, one has to make compromises.

I do not think that the Coolpix S02 will be serious competition for larger cameras. It is a real niche product and as such it is also to be assessed. For this mini camera, besides an ordinary battery power, you create less than 200 photos on a single charge, and a large, brilliant, shining touch display. 2.7 (6.7 cm) measures the screen size. The camera itself is not much larger in external dimensions (5.1 x 7.7 x 1.8 cm) and therefore fits into even the smallest pocket or handbag. With its 99 g, the S02 is a true lightweight.

The integrated memory attaches great 7.3 GB capacity and is sufficiently large well for this type of camera. At a SD or Micro SD card slot must be abandoned. Unfortunately, this makes a transfer to a computer more difficult because you (no standard Mini or Micro USB) has to rely increasingly on the supplied USB cable. In my estimation the only real negative point of criticism.

Fortunately has the mini-camera via a Micro-HDMI output which can be the photos taken conveniently right play on TV.

The Coolpix S02 is available in silver, white, pink and blue. The latter color could be described as baby blue and like very much. Of course, a matter of taste!

The workmanship is very good and clean. Included is next to a user manual, USB cable, power supply, and the obligatory Trageriemchen.

Small, light, compact, suitable snapshot. Those looking for such a camera, can access. Those who want more should look for alternatives.
