Yes, this Funkkopfhöhrer has a slight noise. Funnily enough, even independent of distance, at least for me. But I was able to reduce this to an imperceptible level for me, as I have turned the input signal as high as possible, and then the volume on the headphones itself down.
Headphones and base station are simple plastic, which is to cover bit fiddly, but the sound is for me the school grade of "good". I use it to watch TV, and at least it is a very good price / performance ratio.
