Admittedly, the old men come now finally in their terminal flower. But what they have an exception since the album "Princess Alice ..." of 2007 (for me a milestone), paid for an explosion of great songs and emotions! The new album has not ignited for me in every song, but there is in the rest to admire so much grade A, that there will be more than offset. The opening track "Live Till You Die" brings nothing new but solid usual fare and is then followed by the exceptional song "Unwritten Sacrifice", is what accompanied with rich guitar and a wonderful chorus. At the latest from this point you know you entered through the magic mirror in the garden of Magnum and feel the poignant charm. This is followed by varied songs, which prove the whole spectrum of Tony Clarkin. But what is the end of the album, the masterpiece has kept until last: Beautiful melodic rock guitar with rich carpets and melodies, as if Clarkin even have a magic fountain in the garden, from which he draws. I would even say that there are some of the best songs he ever wrote: "Wisdom's had its day" (A song like a dream for me the best, the essence of Magnum is - better it is no longer easy!) , "Burning River" (Satter melodic hard rock of the highest class - as the prototype of a perfect rock songs) and finally "The Valley of Tears", a Magnum hymn that seems once again the height, width and depth to explore all previous ways of Magnum, melancholic but fantastically beautiful feeling full! At the end of a fact remains clear: They are still there and Mr. Clarkin can still compose exceptional songs that can make all the competition in the shade!
