Benefits:
+ Significantly (clearly seen even with only 15 MP) less noise than the NEX, slightly higher dynamic range
+ The picture quality is very useful to ISO 6400 (with a 15 MP), to ISO 3200 very good (although quite easily the details disappear, but that's a bit fussy)
+ Very good viewfinder
+ Very good display
+ Even with 36 MP still razor sharp down to the details (but only with the right lens, eg Zeiss 35 / 2.8 !!!).
+ The old APS-C lenses can be used (15 MP) and be cut automatically (in RAW)
+ The camera raw files and the lenses are supported by Lightroom.
neutral:
o No external battery charger case. I always charge the battery in the camera anyway and always have a USB Power Bank thereby. For professionals who shoot a few hundred images a day, which may be a disadvantage.
o The battery lasts for 300-400 loose shots. This may not be great, but is sufficient for me.
o The generated raw files can be up to 40 MB in size.
Disadvantages:
- The camera has become naturally bigger, but still compact for a full frame sensor camera. So is not a disadvantage.
- Charging the battery in the camera is slow.
- No flash in the camera. Of course there are Aufsteckblitze to buy, for example, HVL-F20M.
- (Still) a few full-frame lenses available
- The Setobjektiv FE 2870 is not great (that's probably normal for Setobjektive unfortunately). Supplement: The FE-2870 lens is probably only meant for the Alpha 7, there is a good figure. Thanks for the comment.
- Very loud double shutter sound. When the camera is placed and fired in the dark on a railing, then it sounds as if it is struck with a small hammer on the railing (no kidding!).
- Due to the frequent changing lens I have several times had dirt on the sensor (for the camera but certainly nothing). I'm waiting for the lens Zeiss FE 2470. Then I have hopefully not as often change lenses.
- Not cheap. With new FE-lenses it goes fast into the money to take advantage of the full capabilities of the camera.
- It still does not work, with mobile phone remote control to save a RAW image (JPG only). That's weak. When RX 100 II that worked. Here I can only help with my self-timer.
- Few Apps in the Sony Store available, which I miss only the time-lapse app.
Conclusion: I'm excited, waiting impatiently for new lenses (eg Zeiss FE 2470) and have my NEX-6 sold. The NEX-5 I keep because of their compactness (together with the lens 16-50) yet.
Addendum: the time lapse app is available now for the camera, even in a new version with some more settings (Miniature Effect, starry sky, etc.). Makes a good impression.
