At the heart of Victorian England

I found that the novel began in somewhat sluggish and so I was extremely surprised to enjoy this story as told by Anthony Trollope. The description of the main character (Miss Mackenzie) and precision that the author puts into the definition of its nature makes the surprising history panting; as well as the twists in the heart of a century in which the agreements made probably a little sclerosing all attempts of female emancipation.
