Rather a stopgap!

While the remote control works, but unfortunately not very good! The removal performance is more than modest, with the supplied battery, I had to actually approach up to 30cm in order to trigger the camera to (EOS 600D)!
With a new battery, it works better then, nevertheless it is so hit or miss to trigger the camera from across the room. This points to the battery either then that the manufacturer uses a priori bad batteries or that the battery discharges even when not in use, the latter would not be too unusual. I'll definitely when not in use, remove the battery!

Conclusion:
For long distances unsuitable, but also he who seeks only a reliable stand-timer, should better buy a wired remote control or a remote trigger.
