When seasoned musicians get together to jointly bring an album on the way then that's not always good. Often harmonize such "alpha animals" not necessarily with each other and the results are then but sometimes pretty bad and embarrassing. On Russel Allen and Mat Sinner with their joint project "Level 10" meets the not too. "Chapter One" offers hard, melodic Metal and the whole story acts as if it were all of a piece. Vocally Russel Allen is anyway beyond doubt and music is also top notch, as there is nothing to complain about. You can tell just the two with Randy Black (drums), Roland Grapow and Alex Beyrodt (Guitars) and Alessandro Del Vecchio (keyboards) have taken four old stretching on board mastered their craft inside out. In "Chapter One", the listener will find everything their heart desires: Melodic riffs, escalating lead guitars, fat basslines, driving drums and above all looms the loud voice of a Russel Allen! What can you expect from a Metal album more? The opener "Cry No More" is one of those snappy numbers are outfitted with melodic harshness and a catchy chorus and a carried away immediately. From this caliber are with "When the nightimes come", "Blasphemy", "The Last Man on Earth", "Demonized", "Forevermore" and the brilliant "in for the kill" still a lot of these songs at the start. The latter in particular has done it to me immediately - this thing reminds me like no other song to the old masters of Metal Ronnie James Dio. A Hammer Song of the going as "Schmidt's cat"! Of course, not all songs from the full power department, with "Soul of a Warrior", "One Way Street", "Voice of the Wilderness" and "The Soul is eternal" are also a lot of strong songs in midtempo range on "Chapter to find one ". These songs partly a certain "Black Sabbath-Touch" - you know, something this serious acting gloomy sound. For me the "King Song" is on every album but the ballad. Did not work without me actually and when the ballad is good for nothing I'm really pissed off! :-) With "All hope is gone" have "Level 10" but a really, really strong ballad at the start - I am ecstatic! To me the rock music has produced the most beautiful and soulful ballads and this number fits seamlessly in a long, long series of beautiful rock ballads.
My conclusion: "Chapter One" is a successful project of the lords Russel / Sinner and I think whoever is at blazing melodies and melodic hardness will have a lot of fun with this album. I'm curious if there will be a "Chapter Two", I would not mind for my part.
