When I was looking for a powerful processor for my new PC system, the Intel Core i5 2500K was soon on the shortlist. He convinced the testers of many magazines by high performance and a reasonable price, so I was soon sure to have the right model found. I bought me the K-model (for any overclocking projects) in the boxed version. The boxed cooler but I have not tested. Here I chose the Cooler Master V8, which transported the waste heat of my processor also reliable. The i5 offers for all applications that I use, more than enough power. In idle mode the CPU is cooled from my V8 to pleasant 29 ° C, under load (one hour Crysis or GTA IV) reaches the processor a temperature in the range of approximately 42 ° C. Who needs more power (for whatever) attacks such as the expensive i7 2600K. However, I am of the opinion that the additional cost for most users is not worthwhile. Since the price-performance ratio is much better at 2500K! For those who are interested in it: my processor was manufactured in Costa Rica. However, there are other production sites.
>>> FazitDer Intel Core i5 2500K is the right processor for all who want to screw together an inexpensive but powerful high-end system. For those who want to tease out even more performance out of their system in the future, the K-model is certainly the right decision. For all other likely also the slightly cheaper i5 2500 sufficient.
