Dark geartetes album with high-class instrumentals

To date, every album had as its charm, its independence and yes ... maybe an incomparable base for me. So the debut bursting "fire water" just before unprocessed conflicts, while the arious last "freedom" an integrated and happy in himself Curse reflected. The second album "Inside Out" is a good mix of both sides. The third work of "internal security" had very nice varied Instrumenals. And the fourth work "Sinnflut" was almost meditative Positive atmosphere. Many describe (plus Curse itself) "Inside Out" as his best album. I myself torn between this and "deluge".

For me, all previous albums recorded by the fact that a good mix of fun, seriousness and looseness prevailed. Whereby only differed the proportions who had these directions. The latest album from the house Curse that the path trod by "inside out", differs in this respect, in my view, clearly from the precursors. Because here the melancholy takes a pretty strong continuous thread. But more on that later.

In my view, the style and the Curse form corresponds to "About Us" very to what most people think of Curse or would expect from an album of this artist. Many feel it between dark and negative. The releases "Tatooine", "We just need us" and "Crystal clear February / For P." are very representative of the whole instrumentals and switched moods on the album.

What I like is that Curse has made in advance for much transparency sufficiently the differences between the versions albums. So I followed his regular comments, which he so ceased or linked via Facebook. There he goes very concretely on the contents of the Curse book that includes the Premium Edition. Just on the differences between Standard and Deluxe Edition.

I myself have brought only the Deluxe Edition and not the Limited Box. But I still want to comment briefly on the contents of the box. If someone does not use Facebook itself and consequently does not know the video comments of Curse of the album. So here the contents of the box:

- Double-CD (album plus Instrumental CD)
- Double vinyl (album plus instrumental record)
- T-Shirt (black with white square, where "us" stands)
- Curse Book

Of course, the box has the deluxe version of the album. This has (unlike the standard version) of four tracks on the album (Tatooine, we only need us, only since I'm here and heart back) piano versions. This addition is a small tribute to the late 16 February 2012 Patrick Ahrend. Who with the piano style (as in "What now?") So nothing can begin to make the purchase of deluxe instead of the standard version, of course, correspondingly little sense. Since there are no new songs, but just only piano version of eh present on the album songs.

The book is a (thin) hardcover book. It includes background stories about the origin of songs, photos and alternative texts that have not packed it in the songs. According to his own words (Curse) had many a song given another "twist" the alternative texts.

The equipment of the double-vinyl-plus-CD box set, which also are between standard, deluxe and Boxedition, you can piece together accordingly. Although I must refer to the product description (Saturn), unfortunately, that the 2-LP-plus-CD box, unfortunately contains only the standard version of the album on CD !!!

What strikes me first is the relatively strong lengths of the tracks. The only "hangover" has sufficiently length "Fibiaamaleyalude" in which we again encountered Fibi, we met in "Inside Out" still in infancy. Where she appeared on "Fibilude". In addition to the short length (1:48) which is perhaps the only bright spot of the album really loose. The remaining songs are moving to maturity at 4 minutes the last four songs (Standard Edition) move even around maturities of 6 minutes. The Deluxe version comes as a total span of 71 minutes. The capacity of the audio medium is so ('m accustomed generally Curse plates like me) nearly fully utilized.

The instrumentals are for a rap album relatively high and bit monotonous. The instrumental accompaniment sounds very much like natural instruments, some with African strikes and colorings. To take one of the versions with instrumental addition, so it can make perfect sense.

If only because older Curse albums are quite favorable for purchase, it is fair to this new album simply engage times. I think that necessarily in anyone's life comes a phase or come back where you wonder, "What is my path?". And in such a self-discovery phase is an album like this fits.

I myself have become more befriended with the artist Absztrakkt whose new work "Bodhiguard" recently appeared. This reminds me of the previous Curse. Inasmuch as meaning, vitality and action impulses like the previous Curse each other to shake hands.

Who is undecided before making a purchase decision, I can the careful study of the previous video releases "We only need us", "Crystal clear February / For P." and recommend "Tatooine". I find that these extractions very well represent the whole package. In studying the reviews of my colleagues me fell on two aspects that I would like briefly. The comparisons with other artists and the kind of lecturing. It is to "Us" considerably spoken more than rapped or sung, What I do not think so tragic. What does that mean, one has to hear in the videos. Compare with Cro, Chakuza, Casper and Prinz Pi I find strange. So as if Curse earlier made totally different music or had no reasonable prone texts.
