Common Sense or The Common Sense, is one of the most famous in history pamphlets. Criticizing the monarchy, tyranny and advocating democracy, Thomas Paine was right. In 50 pages, divided into four main parts, he explains why the control of power by a single entity is harmful in supporting his statements of fascinating examples like Gideon who refuses to be king, or citing the fable "The Ass in the Lion's Skin "Aesop. Also, it gives us a version of SA egalitarian political system where everyone can assert his ideas and where political monopoly is no longer a chimera. His ideas will be reflected in the US Constitution of 1787, and even in our beautiful country. Essential reading for anyone fascinated by history and student of English.
It's a beautiful edition that in addition respects the original case. Indeed, printing then did not allow printing in bold or italic is why Paine chose to highlight his ideas using capitals. English is not very difficult but solid foundations are still recommended if you do not want to open your dictionary ten times per page.
