You realize increasingly that Linkin Park has become a band whose commercial success is more important than to discover themselves, to find its own independent stalk and then unfold it. The band could have so many slots a notch in the rock history after their brilliant debut "Hybird Theory". But no one wanted to risk with "Meteora" nothing and wrote the songs to until they were "platinum-compatible". So similarly it behaves in well with this Live CD / DVD: In addition to the "Meteora" songs Linkin Park have all their singles from "Hybird Theory" squashed on the album, so it indeed well received by the masses. The camera and the subsequent image processing on the DVD is only satisfactory. Constantly you have to endure slow motion sequences that often last too long and, moreover, make any niece live atmosphere. The same is true for the audience level which is completely turned off for long periods. The audience can be heard almost only at the beginning and end of each song and sing along if Mike or Chester calling on the mass. Too bad, a bit more typical live sound did this album certainly good. Linkin Park on stage there is a clear lack features such as improvisation and innovation. Every song on "Live in Texas" sounds just like on their studio albums. No sign of ingenuity or anything Fresh. Of course it is commendable that Linkin Park make no (audible) error, but a live album should and should not be a copy of a studio album. If I did not know better, I would even say that Linkin Park have created another studio album. Why should we be so "Live in Texas" buy when you have the exact same sounding albums "Hybird Theory" and "Meteora" already be in the CD rack? No idea? I do not, therefore only 3 stars.
