But my humble opinion about the game is as follows:
It's a low-budget production, which is obvious.
I know the backgrounds do not exactly, but since it is a licensed product, I'm assuming that just for these licenses (Alien, actor, weapons, music, etc.) also not short of money has flowed.
As a die-hard Alienfan I had a lot of fun prinzipiel in this game.
The swipes at first and especially the second part are great.
This is also definitely emphasized, because on the cover is anywhere the talk of the Alien Trilogy. Although there are one or two allusions to the first part of it, but basically only the look and atmosphere of the second part is almost implemented here!
Some settings from the films (the legendary Space Jockey from Part 1), quite a lot of sound bites (Micro Changes in Air Density has torn me laugh before!) And of course the music (the soundtrack is super set!)
One thing I must definitely say:
I think especially in the German market suffers this game at a very specific disease. This is dubbed! The movies Alien and Aliens come from another time and have also been set to music underground badly in Germany.
Super a lot of jokes and sayings are simply not available.
(Ex .: Aliens => as the Marines are to give up their ammunition asks Frost: "What do you expect us to use it, harsh language?" It is in German "And what shall we do now?")
Changed the whole atmosphere of the films, as previously the effects the film had not yet under control but also the characters and the intermediate Humanities education.
Colonial Marines suffering course in DE also very hard hit by the incredible grottigen Synchro and the lack of biting humor, which has the first two Alien films also influenced.
I also find that the FPS-handling is not can play so bad.
The game captivated me at least and I have played it in two moves.
I can not say about Duke Nukem Forever, Skyrim, Mass Effect 3 and even one or two other "major titles" ....
All in all I give this game a solid 3 points! There are better games that were a thousand times more boring / are as this one ...
