(I would like to make a brief statement to this lens as a hobby photographer (with 3 years of experience) and not as an expert and professional - my DSLR is a Nikon D5100 - thus this review is not meant for the owner and user of a camera of the professional class - because such a lens is probably eh not even looked at?)

After the first photos taken was clear: This lens would have a long time to belong to my equipment.
Previously I was with the pictures of the kit lens 18 - 55mm very satisfied, but compared with the Micro Nikkor 40mm is a decent but noticeable difference.
The images are crisp and clear and the knack macro function is completely usable in almost every way.

Of course, it is logical that not every moving object can be held in close order. You really have to close ran to the scene, but who can afford a little patience, speed and attentiveness, yet caught so many small animals or the like. For non-moving objects, plants, ... definitely honored to use. Anyone who wants better, it may grab a bit deeper into his pockets.

So in my opinion, actually used for everything and delivers anywhere excellent image quality - Of course, the objective is also for Portäts, landscapes, ....
I think that even the films with this lens makes a pleasure - will soon be tested auführlich.
The automatic focusing is really very quiet and is very fast.
The processing is in my view top, the weight is really low and the metal bayonet holds the lens firmly to the camera.

Conclusion:
At this price for the needs and requirements of an amateur photographer unbeatable.
Everything better place probably only twice or even more expensive lenses again, and I had no information comparisons.

For each who has been satisfied with a kit lens (which of course is not bad either)
Invested this Uros, you will regret it in any case!
