I, too, had something to large screws (for the frame) that went incredibly difficult reinzuschrauben. Even the drill as a cordless screwdriver has failed here and you could only "with momentum" (pure screw as far as it went, back out and then clean with a flourish) reinkriegen reasonably. The slight pilot holes did not match 100%, so wanted the screws slightly inclined pure, but this was not because they were a bit too large and thus have blocked the plate.
Assembly instructions without text agrees not 100% of itself and is a bit annoying if you overlook details.
The slatted frame does not make too classy look - what one should expect also not necessarily in the price.
