I'm not a user in steering wheel racing games, I've never been! Something I have every day in hand, on a PC or console but I want to "play" and not a super-realistic feeling before do not understand why these days everything is so counted, and not the gameplay itself. And that is indeed exalted in this game, at least for the use a gamepad like me. I also like simulations as Richard Burns Rally, is one of my favorite tracks, but as I mentioned earlier, just with a gamepad. DiRT is probably not a simulation like the other parts of Colin (1998, I was a big fan of the first part on the PSX, but not, however, the following interested me so .. now I play part 4 and 5 after and am thrilled! Highly recommended. ) but more a mix of simulation and arcade, and it speaks to me very! I've tried several pads, the original driver the Xbox 360 pad is detected with vibration function immediately, just like the Logitech ChillStream since there is used the same input. These 2 pads, the keys are assigned as on the Xbox, all other pads must be calibrated manually Another drawback: not all pads works the Force Feedback function, and you have to use the keyboard for the menus (with the Logitech ChillStream and the Xbox 360 works with all pad). the Saitek P2600 for example it does not work, the Logitech Rumblepad however klappts.
Graphically, it is also top notch, but calls properly also has a strong machine, dual-core is almost mandatory. Has in a friend of even a single core AMD with 2.6 GHz and a GeForce 7600 GT it works all good though with medium / high (nothing on Ultra) settings (Rally, Hill Climb) but sags when several cars have to be displayed (Rallycross , Rally Raid). So who are considering this game to pick up, should best only times Download the demo and see if it works well and as intended.
The heart of DiRT is the career mode, is somewhat reminiscent of Colin 2005. You have to work your way from an early age and Events unlock. But certain vehicles are required to be first must acquire for certain events. This Colin has put on variety, and titles not only to rally as in the previous. Thus, this game provides not only the normal rally, but still Rallycross, Rally Raid, Hillclimb etc. and a really big fleet. There are the usual rally cars, but also trucks, buggies ... etc, so boredom does not come so quickly.
I can recommend it to anyone who likes games Rally (except the steering wheel freaks), preferably with a Chill Stream or the original Xbox 360 pad, just a great ride!
