I shot within a few minutes at the same focal length and the same aperture on the D800 photos, photos that were unacceptable to the brim knackscharf and on the edge. Likewise, I had to ask during the Blue Hour difficulties really sharp. I then focused my LiveView.
One rule I could not find so far, why most of the images were sharp to the edge, while some clearly lost the edge sharpness.
I can adjust the lens for this reason, along with the camera. After that I had so far no such margin for error. However, the next holiday comes with many photos yet.
Otherwise, the lens is just fun. Man has something in his hand. The lens is made of metal and weighs a corresponding amount. The bokeh for portraits is not bad to my taste. By Aperture 2.8 the subject can freely make good. An anti-shake, I have not been missing.
I had thought to buy me the Tamrom with VR, but it can be, because there are probably problems with the VR there.
I can only advise to form their own opinion and try the lens alone. Each has its own subjective feelings.
