Is After my old Leatherman Tool after years of hard use now but already worn out quite well, I ordered the Wave in the Black Edition. The delivery of Amazon was as usual quickly and reliably. My first impression of the new tools but ehr was ambivalent. The processing of my old Leatherman's was much better. Starting with the old genuine leather, the new is from fummeligem Cordura. To bluing of Black Edition, which already looks after long use new years The edges of the handle parts look for cheaper stamping work and were probably not properly deburred. The tools are in some cases so stiff that it is best used for folding a second tool. It is advisable to treat the part once thoroughly with WD40 or Ballistol definitely. So much for the negative impressions. But of course there are plenty of positive. As before, the tool is very stable. The jaws of the pliers grip clean one another without play. The wire cutter away easily with any uncured wire, for example copper cables etc. The two knives can hide with one hand and can be folded and both have a very good catch, making handling safer. Both blades are extremely sharp. We'll see how long. The lockable file also has a rough side analogue of a typical iron filings and a very high-quality fine side, I think even with diamond dust occupied. Perfect for torn fingernails. On typical can opener is a small sharpened notch for stripping wires. Works with a little practice excellent. Next to it is the large bit holder, equipped from the factory with a medium Phillips / slotted bit. The bit holder is in itself a very good idea, the quality of the bits but ehr shabby and really only be seen as an emergency tool. Otherwise handle the little bit holder is with a very small double bit busy, a very sharp small scissors and a large flat-blade screwdriver, makes a rather robust impression. All tools must be locked, which really facilitates the safe handling and in my opinion represents a real added value. With my old tool I have often squashed fingers. In my opinion, the Leatherman is still the best tool.
