Step by step guide to Erstinberiebnahme, incl. Software update!

As is written here repeatedly negative of software errors or PC detection problems, I made me even bother and made a step by step instructions on how to update. In most cases, this is purely namely an operator error.

1. Unpack the unit and recharge, if necessary by means of charger.

2. Switch on and follow and complete the commissioning wizard.

3. Ins (NAVI) menu go Config Hardware USB port Connect to Mass Storage and answer yes. (Not already connected to the PC!)

4. And there probably lies in the vast majority of errors. If the Navi not first changed or confirmed to Mass Storage, your PC does not recognize the device and only shows an empty window without device data. So it was at least for me.

5. On the [...] site and register once. Then download and install the download Updater. Blaupunkt Code (the package) does not need you, update works automatically, and forever.

6. So now connect device with PC. But first .. Very important !!!

7. necessarily the magnetic USB port on NAVI using a rubber band or adhesive tape (see photo in gallery) and then connect to the PC !!! Why? Very easily! Disengages the magnet and thus the connection to the PC during the software update, you can throw the device into the bin, or sending it for about 3 weeks at Blaupunkt and can play a new Betriebssyst em! So it is in fact happened to me (and probably even many others with alleged software problems).
Necessarily fix or secure So, magnetic connection to Navi !!!

8. Now the window should your device be shown and then you can perform the software and map update. If not, start over, or call the hotline in case of doubt.

9. Do not be surprised, for the first time update takes itself with a fast DSL line over an hour.

10. Now your device should be up to date and you can occupy yourself with the innards and try. It also says:'ve done :-))

In conclusion, I can only say that this is a super motorcycle navigation device and is absolutely unbeatable price performance ratio. For 155 euros you get (s) a very good waterproof part where is unparalleled!
Sure there are bigger, slightly better equipped Navis as TomTom, Garmin, Becker or BMW. But it is precisely the latter to three times to four times the price! And if the justified, but I strongly doubt.
Whoever sets out its priorities in advance and only get from A to B safely and would like for it to spend vast sums not, is absolutely well served with this unit and with TomTom Livetime maps!
From me there is therefore an unconditional recommendation and four star!
Why only four stars? Very easily. For five stars, the device would have to be perfect. But a perfect Navi there is not good!
