Note two very catchy songs that stand out:
- "Love Never Felt so good" which opens the album, could be on the B-side of "Off the Wall" as the arrangement (albeit modernized) is close to what Michael was doing at the time.
- "A Place with No Name" (which sample the famous "Horse with no name" of America) with a loop of electro bass that is reminiscent of the "Leave Me Alone" to "Bad".
The other 6 songs are quite pleasant to listen to, even if certain passages would have benefited from being more refined (Michael's voice is at times smothered under overdubs).
Finally, even if the album proves very qualitative + as its predecessor, all inevitably lack some soul. Uneven pieces but (too) worked, "Xscape" the album that will, like of "Invincible" in his time, will be more enjoyable after a few listens.
The CD single includes the songs:
1. Love Never Felt So Good (3:54)
2. Chicago (4:05)
3. Loving You (3:15)
4. A Place with No Name (5:35)
5. Slave to the Rhythm (4:15)
6. Do You Know Where Your Children Are (4:36)
7. Blue Gangsta (4:14)
8. Xscape (4:04)
Only 8 titles, a good half hour in short music.
The deluxe version (available in a cardboard box OR crystal) contains both pieces of simple editing and the original "raw" Jackson (better on some titles), 16 tracks in total + version " Love Never Felt so good "in a duet with Justin Timberlake + 1 DVD Making of the album (which I still have not watched).
