In the Klarstein Volcano I have read that in several passes sometimes consecutively takes longer, until the grains pop up. This was an indication that this is a thermostat is installed in the boiler, which protects against overheating. Because I also had a good feeling, I ordered then this machine.
In the photo it looks a little cheesy from, but in real life she is beautiful and everything well thought out.
Up front, two switches with pilot lamp are installed easily accessible. One is for the lighting (10W) and for keeping warm popcorn. The other is for the agitator and the heating chamber. The door has a magnetic closure, the bottom rubber feet are attached and the acrylic panels are edged on all four corners in nicely rounded aluminum bars, which still serve as supports for the overhead drive unit. A drip tray is also still in the process, this is exactly sized to no popcorn next fall. The cable for the tilting kettle has just the right length and makes a wide uniform sheet to prevent a cable break. The solid agitating wire has a pressure spring in order to avoid jamming when things firmly adheres to the boiler bottom. The pot lid and pot suspension are unfortunately somewhat sharp and with me sometimes jammed the lid and the popcorn did not come out. But this is easily fixed by the two covers on the straight side between the two hinges in the middle of about half a millimeter with the thumbs up turn, so that they no longer slip below the dash panel on the agitator shaft.
The manual should be revised a bit, but my first popcorn succeeded right away. The preheating and then off you can save.
I just turn on both switch, wait about 3 minutes, then fill the small measuring spoonful of sunflower oil, and a moment later the big scoop of popcorn maize. After another 3 minutes, begin already to Poppen the first grains and then it goes very fast, the lids are pressed, the finished popcorn pops out and falls into the serving dish. If the pop-noise stop, I switch the kettle off, cant with the lever the remaining popcorn out, using a wooden spatula I also bring all nice clean out.
Finally, I still sprinkle some brown sugar cane on the still warm popcorn. The fine layer of oil that adheres well to it and thus has a wonderfully delicate caramel flavor.
Now you can make the same more portions, at very short intervals sometimes the thermostat switches briefly for a few minutes the boiler and immediately go on. The cup is full to 2 servings and I then fill the finished popcorn in bags beautiful nostalgic.
In this way, I have already made about 50 servings and succeeds every time quite perfect.
I tried it with coconut oil, feel the same, but it leaves white traces of grease. The oil can be wiped off easily.
The cleaning of the machine is also very easy. The pot can wipe out without expanding with a pastry brush and brush acrylic panes with old scraps of fabric made of cotton, the corners are rounded so beautiful. Using a flat, wrapped in a scrap of fabric wooden spatula to get easily to the narrow next to the pot hanger.
For me the popcorn machine has a firm place in the kitchen and it looks really classy, and amazed the people. In particular, I have also never eaten such delicious popcorn.
Addendum March 2014:
I have sometimes tried and, if the sugar in the heating chamber. It works beautifully, so you caramellisiertes popcorn.
So just give 2 small scoops of coffee sunflower oil into it, then a quarter of large scoops with sugar and a big scoop full of pop corn.
I suppose brown cane sugar, or xylitol (birch sugar), the latter being even tooth friendly and does not affect the sugar levels.
Addendum March 2015:
Now I take a sugar only xylitol, thereby burning nothing on the pan base is always spotless and the popcorn is so even dental care.
For a wonderful caramel flavor I give you one more pinch of maca powder into the boiler and for chocolate flavor, carob powder.
So just 2 small scoops pour in full coconut oil, then a quarter of large scoops xylitol, a pinch of Maca powder and a big scoop full of pop corn.
