The album begins with the over-opener "Septuagint" with a very unusual Akkustiksolo - so after the first few seconds already clear with what ingenuity, we are dealing here. After that right directly to the totally crazy riffing the band, followed by a monkey horny solo! The next song "Vortex Omnivium" is brutal on the matter - here no prisoners are taken. A brilliant riff accompanies the song up to the castle. Very typical is the song "Ocean Gateway", which contains quotations from the slow death metal rolls as Grave or Morbid Angel. The pace remains consistently slow, the mood of the song is as dismal as the Mariana Trench. From "Euclidean Elements" then becomes on the album even more complex. Wild staccato riffing coupled with brutal blast beats calling the attention of the listener. "Prismal Dawn" is intoned by a quiet duet from Akkustik- and electric guitar and accompanied by relaxing, slightly distorted Clean vocals and going back later on in the typical for sophisticated tech Death staccato riffing. The vocals range then of deep Death growls up to nasty cawing, garnished by double-bass and brilliant solo play. "Celestical Spheres" constantly alternates between mid-tempo, fast play and even in the middle of a very quiet part. Very cool here is the bass solo in the middle of the song, which then merges into a guitar solo. The gloomy "Velocity" is going very conscious and has some slow parts again. The vocal-less "A Transcendental Serenade" is also very atmospheric and demanded guitarist Stefan Kummerer and Christian Muenzner from everything and is capable with a pounding, deep reef ala Kataklysm also to surprise, just before it goes back to absolutely inhuman Gefrickel. In "Aevum" represents the German tech Death quad then again at 8 minutes of playing time his skills on display: Slow and overwhelming Opening, brutal death growls with quick blasts, followed by a deep, slow riffing, technical staccato riffs verfrickeltem Solo, progressive guitar sounds, atmospheric solo, unusual, distorted chorus vocals, slow clumsy Outro. The bonus track "Concerto" with riffs from the Neo-Classicism is a cover of the band "Cacophony" and is here again given by the guys terrific for the best.
All in all - a very impressive album. Even more complex, more elaborate than even the groundbreaking predecessor "Cosmogenisis". Just great - assuming one takes the time for the album. Listening to once and hum is nothing! Degrees in the central part of the CD, wenns suddenly very confused and varied approaching, one can ever lose the overview - here I have at least used to the 7 runs the CD. But this extreme wealth of variety, it is also what makes the band and their sound so. Each instrument comes alike to the train, and also the vocal varies repeatedly. The range of songs ranging from slow to fast and brutal and emotionally.
Conclusion: This type of music is certainly not for everyone - and that's good! Very complicated but highly recommended!
