The impression remains: "Free!" is a good album, by gesanglicher- and sound impressive, yet it remains unasked and natural. The always slightly altered the general style over the years and albums, like some foul belching, other (I) see changes as the best way to stay interesting, and this is precisely the artists very well. The general style is similar course noticeably most likely the album "Radio".
Particularly noteworthy are the (as always) really good information that can stand out from the Wise Guys German pabulum ("My German teacher" - lyrical masterpiece).
Nevertheless WORK make songs as if they were originated under the pretext of still having to fill free space ("Wit had a good time", "Nonverbal Communication", "sunshine", "ChaChaCha auf'm roof" (the latter being an older song, which has now found place on an album)). These songs are in brackets the few "low points" (a crime to use this word) of the album, which I skip frequently.
(The following table shows my opinion, no valid claim)
+ Vocal masterpiece, very good sounds (including "The Water")
+ No voice distortion, etc. (One is from the wise guys but not used)
+ Title partly with current topics related ("torture yourself fit")
+ Tempo varied
+ Mood changes from mostly quiet / melancholic ("I want to you", "Autumn at the Lake", "The water" remember this to "Radio" or "She's amazing") and partly critical / funny ("torture yourself fit" "Seeman" undundund)
0 accompaniment tried to stay varied, what you do not entirely succeed ("Sunshine", "Nonverbal Communication" remember in this point almost 1: 1 to former title)
- On the negative side is possibly the distribution of titles (order), hard to describe, but the order gnaws somehow the overall impression)
- The (in my opinion) too long prelude in Paris live version, which also very reminiscent of modern music (deliberate dissonance)
Conclusion: We see "free!" immediately how much time and work that goes. It's hard to find a favorite song in the album, not because there are too few candidates, but too many. The few not quite first-class title tarnish the overall impression of the album almost imperceptibly. 5/5 and Recommendation, especially for Wise Guys beginners
