Customer Review

Excellent book whose sales largely exceeded 2 million copies. A success which tells the unexpected and compelling story of the city of Paris. Suitable for TV (France 5) as a fiction document, it was almost censored summer 2012 after a controversy triggered by the French Communist Party represented by their elected Left Front. This illustrates once again how the story has become a battlefield with well kept chapels and very brave activists ... The author has probably been wrong to recall that the French Revolution had to extensive damage on our historical heritage, including that of the capital. Which is not a revelation. But it was too much for some to which such truths are intolerable (The Metronome "against" the Republic!) And have requested the prohibition of promotion of this book. Fortunately, the talent of Lorant Deutsch triumphed over these recent attacks, for the benefit of its readers. To be continued (Especially a history of France due out Spring 2013!)
