With me so far only 840 EVO in use, no problems. The small 120 GB 850 EVO I bought a PVR-SSD for the telly, Just looking quickly absorb Timeshift, sequence or movie. Not for eternity for archiving but look, if it fits in time. Unfortunately, it was not recognized the USB port only. Neither the TV nor PlayStation or notebook. Even with hard drive direct connection no result. Probably SATA I, SATA II also may be.
I thought that's not at all! Screwed my x64 notebook and installed there. From what I know, the SATA III has onboard. Lo and behold, in the potters even the 850 EVO. Then the well-known SSD speed. Blessed is the man that / who always has high-end devices at the start.
My conclusion: I'm disappointed, do not know what I do now with the magic thing. At no USB port, I brought them to work, not to think about the intended use of PVR. Even for upgrading an older notebooks I can not use it. Samsung that was nothing. Now I at least know why the 840 EVO is partly sold more expensive than the successor. The 850 EVO is apparently not backward compatible without firmware update. Well, and for an external SSD with no USB support, weak. Power at the end for me even two stars. Fortunately, I have not bought any larger capacity. A little pricey for just rumzuliegen.
*** Update 23:03. *** Although I do not understand, but the negative review ratings should not care. As if Samsung could not even tolerate a critical assessment? Well, that is Hanaro Europe (SSD Support) on behalf of those in any of my little 850 EVO problem tuned. Let's see if presenting a solution. Here indeed seems to be no interest to pass it. I see the description in the title has now been changed to "internal SSD". It is, incidentally, not black silver.
*** Update 11:07. *** I have never heard of the Hanaro Europe (SSD Support) again what. When I look at the other negative reviews, I am apparently not alone. In the PS3 I took them up and running. But not externally, the predecessor 840 EVO no problem.
