Started as a drama, a drama ended.
The film shows the high school life as it is indeed represented in all teenage high school movies, but in a realistic, not silly, coated ridiculous manner.
As an actor you have chosen people who convince firstly through their acting performances and do not look very second, as if they came straight out of the mask.
Was particularly convincing Emma Watson as an emotional counterpart while matching puzzle piece to Logan Lerman. It embodies exactly the slightly fragile looking man, but is strongly influenced by this fragility and just will not break.
Logan Lerman, however, shows just what can happen with repressed memories. They seem the boy constantly something down to draw, but it seems at the same time also much to be relatively indifferent (what in the course of the film more than changes). [Here the introverted character of the boys is nice presented, outwardly it shows relatively little emotion, processed but all experienced in letters to a fictional friend (believed to be on suicide deceased best friend)]
What has struck me is the musical part. Of course, the emotions are supported by appropriate musical numbers, but also only and not produced by these. The actors create without misunderstandings and all alone.
It is expected (hoped) Although the total time a happy ending, but also prepared for anything.
It is well managed at the end to create a simultaneously sad and happy ending. ("We can not choose where we come from, but we can pick and choose where we are going.")
