Jarrett and Garbarek present themselves in a rare even for this high caliber form, Palle Danielsson on bass and Jon Christensen emit an extremely creative rhytmusabteilung.
is frame-like compositions, which form only the framework for escalating, creative and really beautiful improvisations. especially the thirty-minute "Oasis" is a prime example, we may be entertaining improvised instrumental jazz - even purely tipped leaves the thing the time fly by.
although of ECM to expect not only beautiful sound here. the album has quite rough edges and shows that can strike quartet sometimes also rougher sounds. There are also free jazz excursions that should scare anyone now but, annoying or frightening sounds ever.
In my view, a milestone in Jarrett's musical development and a lot more interesting and exciting than, say, the new solo album "Rio" (although that is not directly comparable, of course).
the live atmosphere crackles, yes there temporarily high voltage in the air, so I prefer a virtual hat of the unknown engineer who was able to capture the concert such goosebumps producing.
I am the lucky owner of double vinyls, the sound is fantastic, the artwork with value and taste. ECM one can assume that it is no different in the CD.
