Descent into hell is the culmination of the second trilogy of the adventures of Pendergast. This denier "chapter" is successful, especially the first half, which plunges us into the world of a criminal, which is not without reminding us of the Book of the Dead. I put 4 stars because the suspense is diluted a little late, thus reducing the voltage of a bit player. This latest installment remains a good reading recommendation. Maybe the previous trilogy was good, perhaps too good, and my expectations were too presumptuous.
