The EUD12D meets these criteria
1 and 2: In the function setting "Function: ESV (Dimmer with release delay)" feels the EUD12D how a classic Eltako: press button - light on; Button once more: light. The EUD12D fit into a 17mm slot of a distributor at the point at which was previously the impulse switch. There are also all ports easily accessible, have to be re-sorted only by way of the connection plan
3 In the function setting "Function: ESV (Dimmer with release delay)" does the EUD12D exactly this in a pleasant way: after a programmable time (eg 3 minutes) darkens the EUD12D the light over a programmable time (eg 1 minute) slowly, so that one is warned in time and can easily be turned on the light again. During this Dimmphase a keystroke is not interpreted as a switch-off, but as a reclosure command.
4 From production week 10/2011, there are soft-start and soft-stop. This can be adjusted in steps or switched off completely. The default medium level "3" is a good value. This function reduces eye strain and even the old bulbs.
5 The dimming is possible, according to instructions in a choice of dimmable LEDs. Here Eltako also offers a compatibility list. The EUD has deposited different characteristics. This feature I could not test. Prima I find that Eltako heavily on the different load types (resistive, capacitive, inductive) the lamps arrives.
6 The EUD12D has 2 main entrances, with which various EUDs can be synchronized. There is one central entrance for one and one for Off. And an extensive configurability, which inputs are used and whether they should take precedence over the lokaen buttons. If a motion to the ON input is a short pulse, it can start the EUD12D. A longer pulse leads to dimming. This function is described, I could not test, however.
7 min 0.3W is the EUD12D better than most stairwell lighting timers. But Eltako can do even more. Easier dimmer such as the EUD12NPN has an even lower standby power consumption. If the functionality is sufficient for the application, they are preferable. For my needs the expensive EUD12D has better fitted.
With so much light, there are also some shade:
The manual and feature description has failed quite scarce. There seems to be a requirement that everything must fit on a Beipackzetten. Given this limitation, the manual is still well done. This featured a supplementary real manual would be more appropriate - at least as a download.
The EUD12D can do much more. But that I have occupied myself only in theory. For me it was important that it solves my problem - and he does. Affordable it is. Therefore, full marks.
I can also give no information on the long-term stability.
