While Empire Total War covers the warfare of the 18th century, represents the quasi-addon to Empire, Napoleon Total War, a tribute to one of the "real" greatest generals of all time, Napoleon Bonaparte, represents and is directly linked to that of "Empire" -time following, heralded by the French Revolution of 1789, the Age of Revolution and the Napoleonic wars of revolutionary France against the conservative Europe.
The graphics and the AI (which, however, still now and then reacts incorrectly) has been greatly improved compared to MTW 2 again and the card is not designed refreshingly new and for the worse. Furthermore, can be controlled even in real-time as before only the land battles, researching technology, conquered America and India and overseas trade with Brazil, Southeast Asia and Africa are operated in Empire battles first.
Overall, again a very successful part of the Total War series, the (in particular NTV) was treated with a lot of love for the historical detail and has numerous innovations to RTW & MTW2 from 2004-2006.
One star deduction for the Steam obligation that has to leads after each successful half-hour installation of the DVD a Steam update at ETW with download time of 15 hours and at 18 hours NTW me a bit delayed the start of the game play.
