Customer Review

I was never a Bowie fan and am probably not now. For this my knowledge of his music are simply too low. Clear I know his hits that run on the radio and find them also partly good, but to buy a plate of it, you have never moved me. Then came the Single Thursday's Child, which drew me under its spell, then I listened to the album HOURS and had to have it. This late work of David Bowie sounds just great. Mr. Bowie converts here between life and death, heaven and hell. But the symbolism of the images and the artwork of this CD are fascinating, and the music moved me deeply, penetrates into my insides. And so he has me still packed in the autumn of his career, virtually forced to listen to him.

Flowing melancholy and drama exudes from Thursday's Child. The gorgeous melody has simultaneously slightly dreamy. The chorus is excellent, the accompanying voice of Holly Palmer enchanting, the song complete success.

That is something in the air here, you can feel from the first bar at SOMETHING IN THE AIR. The initial quiet sound radiates already made a certain tension, the drama intensifies towards the chorus that then musically discharges and David can sound downright liberated. The cool guitar sound like here particularly.

Relaxed and balanced met us at Bowie SURVIVE. The quiet acoustic guitar sound is enhanced here and there by striking electric guitar, but sounds smooth and well-behaved. Serene tranquility exudes the vocals. Nice.

Something rough and bumpy comes IF I'M DREAMING MY LIFE therefore. Impressive are the numerous tempo changes here. The cool rock sound to the song fits perfectly. Again, Mr. Bowie acts relatively calm and serene and is thus contrary to the music. Markant, perhaps even a slight angle, but fascinating is the long ending of the song.

SEVEN replaced on fascinating lightness. The song has a melody that you can hum along at once. Again, there's again the beautiful acoustic guitar sound and interspersed accompanying electric guitar sample. Great song.

Dark and a bit wummernd sounds WHAT'S REALLY HAPPENING? The deep bass line is accompanied by powerful electric guitars, the sound seems to exaggerate the melody before him. The backing vocals is particularly distinctive and well.

A real rock hit with enormous speed is The Pretty Things ARE GOING TO HELL. From start to finish rocking the David Bowie song. Horny voice, great sound, cool melody - horny song.

A touch of mystery blows initially by NEW ANGELS OF PROMISE. David's voice can be heard in all its facets. Again, there's again neat drums and guitars around the ears. The now and then interspersed flute sounds give the song its special appeal.

BRILLIANT ADVENTURE is a short but intense instrumental trip into the inner self.

The Dreamers united at the end again delicate and thumping, even powerful sounds. This is where the music on numerous sound and tempo changes, partly as the song is taken, then back on the road traveling. Interestingly and exceptional title at the end, beautiful.

David Bowie - a big name in the music world, with which I previously could not do much. But this ingenious album shows me that it is never too late for you to discover artists and their music. When Mr. Bowie I feel not me to open up its previous works the need. I am happy and satisfied his 3 late works (HOURS, HEATHEN, REALITY) to have discovered for myself, which include first-class and timeless pop music to my ears.
