I use the lens now for several weeks. Here's my impression: Visually the overall impression is still very good. Contrast weaknesses show up in Aperture 2.8 to 20mm in the corners and from 40mm through seams with high contrast in the scene. Stopping down to 3.5 causes a good, to 5 for very good contrast over the entire focal length and image area. The image stabilization works very well. At 50mm blur pictures with 1 / 5s no problem, 1 / 2s are possible with a few tries. If 17mm is even 1s possible. This allows photos (without flash) indoors, but also the use of smaller apertures for more depth of field in low light. The image stabilizer is manifested in low hum. Significantly louder (though still acceptable) is the auto focus. This works fast - though not turbo suspicious - and safe. The processing makes a good impression. It shakes and rattles nothing. The zoom ring is well damped (so good that the question of the meaning of Zoom-Lock provides). The switch for auto focus and image stabilizer are good to use. For my taste, the focus ring is quite smooth (for manual focus). Because of the internal focusing, the tube which remains unaffected. Overall I am very satisfied with the lens in all areas (optics, technology and processing). 5 stars I forgive, because I just go out of it, that there is no "perfect" and very well justify the rating.
