Finally a good pop album!

One more thing first: to rate the album based on the snippets here I think is impossible, you have to hear full-length songs to make a complete picture of it!

"Roar" was to present the first single the harbinger of the new album, a good introduction to the consistently anklingenden 80s sound of the album. However, one must say that "Roar" was also a clever music selection - because the song is lifted by no means one of the best songs on the album, the best is as for last.

Coinciding with the # 2, "Legendary Lovers", one of the strongest songs on the album will be presented. So the style of the song is somewhat oriental / tinged Indian, and the lyrics seem spiritually: so Katy sings about karma, mantra and positive energy. "Ghost" is again one of the quieter, but also more personal tracks on the album. Nice to listen and to think.

"Love Me" is a fluffy, cute pop number that certainly would not have the potential to become a single, but by no means therefore is a bad song.

"This Moment" has a surprisingly catchy intro - very electro-heavy. The track is somewhat reminiscent of the style of Robyn!

"Double Rainbow" is again one of the highlights on the album! When I then heard the song first time, I thought that could be a soundtrack for Avatar! Very nice and catchy chorus, which sounds very dramatic and probably therefore created associations to great movies.

"By The Grace of God" is the most personal song on the album. Katy sings the ballad about the time after her breakup with her ex, and how they thought about suicide. Very sad.

I can only recommend to buy the deluxe edition, for the three extra songs are very, very good!

"Spiritual" reminded me a little. On the soundtrack of Philadelphia But a very catchy song, super production and nice to listen to.

"It Takes Two" is again a good pop song, and since you can really only say: Emeli Sande meets Katy Perry!

"Choose Your Battles" has a great ambient synth production again and is perfect to complete the album!

All in all one can say that it is one of the best pop albums of the year. There is no track that I wanted to skip. Many tracks have catchy character and many that could be a hit safely when they are published as a single. Also noteworthy is the good production of the album - not only respect to Katy for her vocal and songwriting skills, but also to the production team!
