A dramatic turn of events (Deluxe Edition) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Let's be honest. In recent years, New Yorkers have no degree with glory as regards outstanding albums. While efforts were made to always great variety but the bottom line had all the albums from the years 2002-09 "only" two or three absolute numbers over.
A fact that would have been unthinkable in the days of "Images and Words" or "Scenes from a Memory", but even with such an exceptional band like Dream Theater crept sometime the routine one.
Thus, it was clear that the band to take the departure of Mike Portnoy, of the reins (to) held tight in almost all matters in hand, sensed an opportunity make a fresh start.
On "a dramatic turn of events" the Progkönige remember finally fully on their trademarks without at certain target groups as in the past currying.
A beautifully styled, melodic prog metal meets a healthy dose of hardness, since "Awake" is - days not so good pasted into DT Klangkomsmos at that one puts finally again more emphasis on catchy vocal melodies, which in grand goose bumps choruses branded "Build me up, break me down "or" Outcry "lead.
Even newcomer Mike Mangini celebrates an impeccable debut, we just hope that John Petrucci little more next time lets him off the leash, because what the boy at the Düsseldorf concert this year overtook the particular solo from the boilers, is simply breathtaking!
