My criticism is a criticism of bias, because an inveterate CCR Fogerty fan I have no objectivity. But what the heck - I want to express myself yet. Exemplary here are some songs are highlighted. The title song "Deja vu (All Over Again)" recalls in large pieces of "Who'll stop the rain?" and "I saw it on TV; a bass sequence calls "Have you ever seen the rain?" back into memory. It is an accusatory song that the endless tragedy of Iraq, the Americans are exposed to and probably are ultimately addressed - as a continuation of the Vietnam commitment, so to speak. According to the principle: we had everything already and now again! And an implicit "learned nothing!" "Nobody's here anymore" with Mark Knopfler recalls "Sultans of Swing" on his. The song flows well then. A "Green River" - piece with "Wicked Old Witch" again on the CD - as well as with "Swamp River Days" to "Blue Moon Swamp," his latest CD. "Wicked .." is my favorite. The last song "In The Garden" reminds me of Jimmy Hendrix and irritated me a little. Fogerty's voice was tender, at an advanced age (59) and no longer has the roughness and sharpness that she had in his Creedence youth. Also on "Blue Moon Swamp" that was so, but the Creedence-time was a part of his musical work, then came his solo time in the seventies and eighties with four albums. (Actually five - a true produced but not published) which was described by court disputes with his former promoter and as a "father figure" Saul Zaentz badly handicapped. And now this is another section - with other ingredients and a different paradigm environment, which also has its validity and should be subject to a separate vote. The music - of course - is quite clearly visible from the ductus ago as Fogerty Creedence music and stirred about me like the old days.
