"One, For Words" is the debut album of the Keston Cobblers Club (KCC) to the four guys and gals from the folk stronghold United Kingdom. And above all it is a debut that really is impressive. Because KCC conjure here not just classical folk on the table, but to enforce the "One, for Word" scattered in interesting ways with more alpine Blasinstumenten. But it please do not be put off, because the opener "Maybe We'll Be Heard" seems strange at first by Bavarian brass band on to free up but after a minute the way for the catchy folk, characterizes the total of 13 songs. Mandolins and guitars played softly, coupled with catchy folk-pop melodies give rise to small pearls like "Pett Level" or "You Go". Since then they're Banjo, Piano, Accordion mix one or the aforementioned wind that dish up big and remember towards the end of "Your Mother" for example to Sufjan Stevens. Here 4 people have really taken that seem to have musical good capacity. The two best songs (in addition to "Your Mother") have with "Dun Dun" and the beguiling but reserved for the conclusion to their debut album with a bang to quit KCC "The Man Handless".
Conclusion: "One, For Words" is certainly a small folk-pearl that can score with eingängingen songs and interesting instrumentation. A debut that gives hope to some.
