I play Forza since the 2nd part. No question, the series is one of the best racing series for the Xbox, but I Forza was always sterile and boring to convince over the long term. Forza Horizon is refreshingly different and captivated me like no racing game since NFS Ungerground2 more. The start of the game captures the Festivalamtosphäre a well. They snatched up a last place for the Horizon Festival in sunny Colardo and a cutscene will show the festival grounds, running in the background levels (in Skillrex Remix), fireworks fired. This caused me a good mood and wanting more.
About the story this is simple: win the Festival.
The graphics are good, especially the beautiful lighting effects and reflections on the cars. Very good I also like the dynamic day / night cycle. The festival area at night looks spectacular in the background lots of fireworks is fired, the stages are illuminated headlights shine in the sky. The landscape is detailed and varied (from highways to mountain paths). The cars look compared to Forza 4 some lose detail. The sound contributes a significant portion to the festival atmosphere and is sharing not as bleak as in the previous Forza. You have the choice between 3 radio stations (a pop, rock and electro station) I find the choice of songs well but it would have been more. The races are varied - from the normal round trip up to sponsor races where you have to start up against an airplane. You also can just go through Colorado Hidden Cars search, find Horizon outpost or another driver on the road to a duel ask the checkout replenish. The size of the OpenWorld Colorado is good and you should be busy for a while to find everything. The whole concept made me sure that I said to myself "yet oh a Renne and then is closing .... Well one goes" whoosh and it is
1:30 in the morning. This motivation I had long since ceased in a racing game.
Why only 4 stars?
What bothers me about Forza Horizon is the DLC policy. There are rally stages but no rally car. The solution a rally DLC .... for 15. Why do I have a really finished game again to spend to get a major expansion of money? The number of vehicles is also greatly reduced to Forza 4, of course, there it also DLC packets. Where was the problem to copy all cars of Forza 4? You can alternatively purchase a Season Pass on your all the DLC's get for the equivalent of 40 ... honestly annoys. What bothers me is that the multiplayer online is clear, I would have liked with a buddy at my home and a beer but a few laps turned nada. Another shortcoming is that the texture quality of the cockpit view as the vehicles themselves worse than in Forza 4, but is still good.
Conclusion: All can start something with a racing game Forza should buy it bridges the gap between realism and arcade .. I hope it is followed by a successor.
