When unpacking makes the Olympus BG a very sophisticated look. It is processed very clean and fits haptic seamlessly to the camera. The tripod socket is located on the optical axis. The operation of the handle is easy and fast to handle. To fit the battery cover of the camera has to be removed. On battery grip has been thought of a recessed spot for the cover, so he does not get lost. A very ingenious idea. Knurled screw is then quickly assembled the handle. Nothing creaks or wobbles. The release button and the adjusting wheel Funtkion can be lured to prevent inadvertent movement of the camera. The battery compartment is easily accessible on the back of a sliding button. It can be loaded and used as a power source two original battery, which allows the photographer a number more images. Too bad I think that not even more features have been placed on the battery grip.
Short and sweet
Positive:
+ Processing and haptics
+ Tripod mount in the optical axis
+ Intelligent solution for the storage of the battery cover
Ergonomics +
+ Better handling in vertical shooting
+ Life
+ Price
Negatives:
- Little features from the handle controlled
- Nothing else
My conclusion: The ergonomics gaining significantly by the HLD-5. I use the 620s a fast standard lens (Leica Elmarit) which makes the combination very objective heavy. With the battery grip, the handling is greatly improved. Also in vertical shooting makes the handle a good figure and creates photographer facilitate its work. The E620 with HLD-5 is a very smart and attractive solution for me. The value for money is more than perfect. From my full 5 star recommendation for Olympus HLD-fifth
