It was not the visionary side of a Isamov, a K. Dick or-more recently, a Peter Hamilton, but do not spoil our fun: it is good SF. It is well written, scenes -very detailed space combat, are exciting and searched if they are credited with a share quon realism can be described as not dimaginaire, given the very futuristic context. This is neither a battle of good against evil, or a deep reflection on the war, although louvrage is dotted with some philosophical thoughts on the subject; it is also not infallible story of a hero. This is a can it all at once. This is not a head Doeuvre either (stop cooking this word all the sauces): the style is classic and unadorned, not visionary or prophetic denvolées. Nothing new under the sun. But this is very readable and made with mastery. Secondary characters are not the "ectoplasm", as I was able to read it, but it is true that they are too often reduced to playing the Stooges and sometimes graze the cartoon (but is not it deliberate?). All sarticule around the main character; sarticule all around a living legend of a narrative black hole. Dun reluctant hero.
