The story is rich in meaning, it can address the difference with the child and the fear that it can cause (eg as disability or a physical difference "scary" for the other). We see that the fear of the other, different, is related to ignorance and ignorance of it. Behind the difference, there is the human, sometimes more "human" than even those who reject it, the feeling of loneliness, isolation and misunderstanding ... and ultimately it is the link to the other and found love that erases the difference or the "monstrosity". The story is beautiful and I do not regret this book illustrations but could have been more colorful ... (all black and white, shadows ... a bit sad for my taste). Well, it seems not to be prohibitive for my son.
