This CD contains all Blink182 singles that have ever been published. It is in fact a real Greatest Hits album - so the biggest commercial successes. Such may be the same as the best songs of the band, that must not be the case - here the tastes are different. For individual overview: First of all, it is striking that the pieces are their appearance on the CD in the chronology. A pretty good idea as thus best the development of Blink 182 is shown. The first two songs "Carousel" and "M + M's" date back to the early days of the band ("Cheshire Cat", 1994) - and so they sound. They show how immature the band was then and look like real demo recordings. For (Punk) purists and opponents of "glossy productions" may be the highlight of these pieces, but me personally, these are an abomination: The two songs are the sound downright underground and high-just bad. Quick and monotonous pounding the drums with Blechtrommel character from the toy store to himself. After two hearing is clear to me that I can leave when listening to these songs well and happy. (But what is on the other hand also a pity, because the first 60 seconds of the first song "Carousel" is really terrific as an intro - only then it goes downhill unfortunately.) The next two pieces "Dammit" and "Josie" ("Dude Ranch", 1997), although the sound is much better, but unfortunately the pace and also the inventiveness again fairly monotonous. Also on this I could do without personally. From the fifth song the songs that you have heard several times on the radio and who made known this band can be found: "What's My Age Again" / "All the Small Things" / "Adam's Song" (from "Enema of the State ", 1999). Only now this CD is much better and catches me personally, to be really fun. In particular, the drummer is significantly variable to works and not hammering just to himself. It follows "Man Overboard" ("The Mark Tom and Travis Show - The Enema Strikes Back", 2000) it is rapidly continued with "The Rock Show" / "First Date" / "Stay Together for the Kids" ("Take off Your Pants and Jacket ", 2001). Retrieved from "Blink 182" (2003) stamen also 3 songs (this feeling / I miss you / down / always). With the 13th song "I miss you" the quality of the CD is again better and more varied. Blink 182 show that they also can help but do just as loud pace. Small, subtle breaks and quieter passages are interspersed repeatedly. The last 3 pieces have not been published to my knowledge to other LPs and provide quasi real 'added value' for fans is: The studio versions of "Not Now" and "Another Girl Another Planet" like me also quite good. Rounding out the CD with the live version of "alien exist". This is unfortunately pretty bad by the sound again and especially the guitars go here completely under. This number could have been therefore save.
Conclusion: 18 songs, 58 minutes playing time, because you get a lot for your money. Those who already have a lot of records of the band, has thereby also inevitably (almost) all the songs to find it here. For this disc therefore (completely) is superfluous. Who as yet nothing of Blink 182 has good mood and wants to hear party punk music, which is well served with the CD. From the quality of the songs - particularly the rich diversity - can not keep up with Blink 182 in total, however, with bands such as The Offspring.. This I can not hear more than once at a time this disc. Since I do not have a permanent cap on real change. Therefore, there is good 3 stars, for 4 it is enough not completely.
