At the current price (399 in early December 2014) I could not resist and bought with the Convertible in the variant Intel Core i3 4012Y, 1.5GHz, 2GB RAM, 128GB SSD, Intel HD Graphics 4200, Touchscreen, Win 8.1. Previously I had the HP Omni10 5600eg in use with an Intel Atom Z3770 and a Dell Inspiron 17R SE with Intel i7 and SSD.
Haptic Tablet makes a good impression. The weight is in the green zone. I could not find creaking, the keyboard has succeeded and is ideal for writing. The choice of materials is the price-performance ratio in order and has no reason for complaint. The touchpad is a bit small, but, in this combination also rarely required. Scrolling is also possible with the touchpad on conventional ways.
The concept of magnetic mechanism of keyboard and tablet is solved very well with this product. The tablet retains the dock in the closed state. In the folded mode, you can take the Tastaturdock in the hand and turn the Convertible. The tablet does not fall out everything, but is not much room for maneuver there. The only drawback is that can not be adjusted the angle. This is similar to the product but by the very good IPS display from that extreme point of view allows.
Charging the device via the USB connector on the tablet, unfortunately this is then no longer available. However, the two USB 2.0 ports on Tastaturdock can still be used. The battery life is highly variable depending on the energy settings. I am with about 7 hours of runtime, which are easily enough to me. The battery level is displayed via an LED on the ON / OFF switch.
The display of Miix2-11 is like most touch devices reflecting what the cleaning of the screen makes it easier (finger prints on matte display are because of the rough surface is difficult to remove). Me personally disturbs this slightly, as I often perceive a glitter with matte displays. This eats glint in my opinion a lot of image resolution / clarity and is especially annoying when editing images. Nevertheless, you have to adjust in reflective display his seating position, so you should have no direct sunshine on the display or also avoid window in the back.
On the Internet I read that HD video falter and the performance of the tablets should be through the throttling on Intel Atom level. That is nonsense! The tablet is at least four times as fast as my HP Omni. Surfing the internet is running very smoothly and the Office applications to work without problems. Even with full HD streaming videos (Youtube and Amazon) there are no problems in maximum power saving mode (processor speed 0.57 GHz). The utilization of the processor lies at 7-8%! In the English Forum also discussed the throttling. A user had the simple answer: After switching the power saving mode to maximum performance is almost the full power available, but the battery life is of course enormous back.
Furthermore, I was also afraid regarding the scarce RAM of 2GB. Even editing photos with Photoshop is easy. Online games also work. But you should be careful to close unnecessary applications. The power is in view of the current price more than okay.
What convinced me that one can replace some components of the tablet. If z. B. the memory eventually become scarce, could the SSD swap. Unfortunately, you can not expand the RAM, or would the entire motherboard to be replaced.
Summary: You get a Convertible with a mature Tastaturdock and high-resolution display. There are three full-fledged USB ports available and there are no adapters needed. The battery runtimes are neat and the service is depending on the energy-saving mode more than adequate for current applications. The 2GB of memory is at first sight relatively small, but sufficient. One should notice the price: Comparable devices cost at the moment (Dec 2014) between 60 and 100% more have partially not Tastaturdock this (Dell Venue Pro 11 i3 4GB = 649; HP Pro x2 612 G1 i3 4GB = 794.90; Microsoft Surface Pro 3 64GB 4GB i3 = 775).
Additional info: I have been playing after receipt of tablets the latest BIOS version 97CN39WW.
Update: I have read in some reviews contradictory regarding the image brightness (not to endure from very light to) and had to reinstall a problem with the brightness.. Solution: Lenovo provides a fix ready on the homepage that fixes the problem. The display reaches its maximum brightness and even in free very easy to read.
