When assembling the plastic guides for the hard disk installation you have to watch that the hook to lock the lid show and sloping side to the plug. I have built two festpaltten and set up as a two unbhängige drives. Then I have the shares, and user defined, only shares can be displayed as network drives in Windows with right Laufwerkgroesssen, not the entire disk. , The File Browser in the Playzone is not very clear and not easy to use, here is a software update would do well. I've copied the data on the NSA325 from USB3 connected external hard drive. The transmission rates were to ca. 50MBytes per second. Similar transmission speeds can be reached via Gigabit LAN. Once you have copied folders in Photos, Video and Music data, we remain the CPU utilization for several hours, or days to about 100%, as long as the indexation of the Media will be completed with Twonky. Thereafter, the CPU load falls to values between 0 and 5%. If the NSA325 does not turn off, you have this low CPU loads. As soon as you turn on the new NAS, the hard disk will probably again checked for new content and to get back the 100% CPU load. This behavior is unfortunately observed even when the media server. Zyxel Support has recommended to me as a solution to this problem an update to a beta firmware version. I'll wait with this proposed solution, are reported to positive experience of users in the Zyxel Forum. This 100% CPU load has sometimes led to jerking and failures in sound and image at movie playback.
The fan volume is sometimes too loud, I have a Scythe Kaze Mini fan installed on a trial basis. The fan noise is barely noticeable, unfortunately hear periodic, silent high-frequency sounds that are disturbing to my mind as an original fan noise. The NAS shows fan speed to 0, because in this fan speed signal is not present, and emailed warning fan too slow when you set delivery alerts. The CPU temperature is slightly higher than the original fan, at maximum load ca 54C (50C the original fan), which means passing to a lower air throughput to CPU. I have reinstalled the original fan.
When my problems with 100% CPU load I got good help and advice in the German ZyXEL forum dot com.
Conclusion: NSA325 is going very well in most cases, it chops only sometimes with the 100% CPU load switch shortly after. I hope Zyxel support is also a solution for it.
Update 4 December 2013: 100% CPU load can be avoided by turning off the Media Server and rescan value is set to 0.
Fan Scythe Mini Kaze works much better and quieter when it is connected directly to 12V. See my review and comment at the fan Scythe Mini Kaze fan (2500rpm, 60x60x20).
Update January 20, 2014: Since Firmware Update from 4.61 to 4.70 can be copied with the Zyxel FileBrowser no files from NAS to external USB disk. Zyxel Germany has denied support and referred to Zyxel Hungary. My misfortune is that I live in Slovenia and Slovenia, according to Zyxel Germany Yugoslavia Zyxel Hungary has jurisdiction. Hungarian I can not, unfortunately, and that is why I can not use the Hungarian website. Because of non-existent for me Support by Zyxel, I changed the rating of 4 stars to 2 stars. A firmware update should eliminate errors and previously wreck functioning features. I'll try to Support Global Zyxel get.
