My only downer is the integration into a WLAN network, at least much more difficult work for me, as touted in the samsung pages. The following is a brief description of my problems, including my solution - in the event that there are further plagued buyers who do not manage the WLAN connection ...:
First, information about my system configuration (may be that the error occurs only when my system configuration): Quad-Core PC, Win 7 64bit, 6GB Ram, Fitz Box 7270. Samsung advertises the product with an extremely simple WLAN connection, if the router on the home network, the "WPS" connection supports (see Samsung's website). My Fritz box supports this connection form, so of course I took advantage of this first WPS method. The integration into the private network initially worked well right away, also found the driver installer once the printer on the network. So far so good. But when I then wanted to print my first Word document, informed me the Print Status program that the printer status can not be determined and therefore the print job will not run !? I then the printer "wanted" tens of times on the network, he was loud Fritzbox although notified, the driver software could not him yet "see". I have the installation routine then still performed several times with the "WPS" version - without success. A call to the hotline Samsung provided a second Insdtallationsart, namely the first printer to be connected via a USB cable, then install the drivers through this port, and to perform the WLAN connection in the second step. Also led to the above-described error message.
Only another call to the hotline brought the desired results:
The printer must first be connected via a LAN cable to the router. -What Is not always easy to accomplish, of course, my router is on the ground floor, for example, PCs and printers but in my office in the attic. Luckily I had a sufficiently-long network cable from the package. With the connection via LAN cable then the drivers are installed. then the printer is in a second step, called directly on the previously assigned IP address (just enter the printer's IP address in the Explorer, for example, [...] In the window that appears all the necessary wireless settings can be made (see !. Manual) This variant taught me the necessary success - the printer binds now smoothly in my network, and is of all PCs approachable, so it should be I guess, however, that the frustration potential in terms of WLAN connection be quite high! could, especially for a little-savvy PC users (which has the same or many other similar system configuration). These are to my mind a pure software error (drivers), and since the printer so only for a few days in the trade is, I guess, that these problems should be solved in the next driver release.
If the connection is to the (wireless) network, the printer is an excellent helper, I do not want to miss! Insbbesondere the print quality, even with photographic prints (!!) is hervvorragend! The compact dimensions, as well as the stylish design are extremely Samsung succeeded. The printer has incidentally also a fully equipped fax function, although I did not use, so I can instruct you with no opinion.
Again, the advantages and disadvantages in Bullet Points:
+ Color laser printer, the way you want to open facilities (color printing, print quality, wireless connectivity, compact size, fax)
+ Excellent printing results, also in the photo print!
+ Very compact dimensions (for a color laser printer)
+ Fairly quiet
+ Up and running quickly
+ Stylish design
+ Energy saving mode
+ Completely switched off
+ Fax function
- Wireless network connection
