I bought 4 of these adapters to simplify my existing installation and enjoy the 2 ethernet adapter and also taken to improve performance in the process. Installation is super easy: you plug into the electrical outlet, plug the network cables, it synchronizes with the small button and presto it works! No need for a manual. I use them in part to replace "Freeplug" from my Freebox (too capricious to sync!), The connection between the freebox freeplayer and server is stable and performing well. With the 2nd ethernet port, I plug my media player more stable than wifi. Plugging a power strip on the filtered EXT socket does not disturb the connection. Compatibility with other PLC adapters (devolo AVsmart + 200 and Netgear xavb1601) is perfect.
The DEVOLO dLAN Cockpit software can easily verify everything. Performance is almost doubled compared to my previous 200 homeplug adapters, although it remains far from 500 Mb / s advertised, as with all the PLC adapters! But that's enough for multimedia even HD.
Contrary to what I read sometimes, I have no problem exessive heating adapters (it seems that only the first series were affected, and the problem corrected with firmware update). A small rattling can be heard if the glue ear at 50 cm from the adapter, but inaudible in normal use.
In short, I am delighted!
