Customer Review

The Swedish artillery is back and hits the bull's eye! The band around singer Joakim Brodén has with "Heroes" once again a good album at the start.

After 2012 took a trip to the 17th century return Sabaton with their new album back in the 20th century, back to the 2nd World War. The story is about people who accomplished special acts or unique stories experienced. "Heroes" but I like not only because of the good lyrics, fair enough they quietly continue to broach Swedish history. What I better than its predecessor "Carolus Rex" find is simply the music itself. I want to speak ill by no means the last album now. It had some great songs! "The Lion From the North", "God With Us", "Carolus Rex" and "Poltova". So my favorite songs from the 2012 album called. But the rest of the album is somehow in my mind, or rather in my ears, just average fare. For this purpose, however, to say that the songs have 4 mentioned the level of CD for me so extremely elevated that "Carolus Rex" at least 4 if not perhaps 5 star deserves from me, also for the reason, because it as a bonus the complete album also was Swedish. But my previous favorite album of Sabaton is the 2010 album "Coat of Arms" followed by "The Art of War". "Heroes" will be pushed henceforth exactly between these two albums. Ok, we come directly to the new material:

1. Night Witches: Better can not start a Sabaton album! The choirs at the beginning to make it already to produce goose bumps. What follows is a strong power metal song that no dull moment is a typical Sabaton, anthemic chorus. Great! (9/10)
2. No Bullets Fly: A song that does not like the opener bleak and powerful comes along, but rather a "good mood-Rocker" is. If it is ultimately in the text to a German who can pull the damaged British B17 in his fighter and risked for his mercy towards the enemy treason. Musically similar to "God with us" or "Into the Fire". Makes no mistakes! (8/10)
3. Smoking Snakes: Not bad, but somehow a "Aces in Exile" No.2, but then again not. I am not sure whether the song will ignite with me yet. The break at least is very good! (7/10)
4. Inmate 4859: Quite different the song in 4th place. Has ignited immediately! One of the best Sabaton songs of all time! Strange that the best Sabaton songs almost always deal with Poland ^^ Witold Pilecki, who voluntarily went to Auschwitz to report to the Allies about the atrocities of the Nazis and has even managed to escape in 1943. A worthy song for a true hero! (10/10)
5. To Hell and Back: The already pre-release as a single song for was also published recently a video. Do you really not much to say about it. The melody is catchy, then, is the catchy tune of the album and was probably therefore chosen as a single. Rätt så bra! (8.5 / 10)
6. The Ballad of Bull: The perfect song for lighter rauskramen, even if the song is not as melancholic as the name a suspect. Definitely something different, a change is supposed to finally be! (8/10)
7. Resist to Bite: The second highlight on the album! Has also been published in advance as a lyric video. The Belgian resistance to the Wehrmacht is musically really implemented terrific! The Joakim Broden choir's turn to make again the song to a hymn. The break in my opinion is the best Sabaton-break ever! (9.5 / 10)
8. Soldier of 3 Armies: Lauri Törni who fought during World War 2 as a Finnish and German soldier against the Russians and emigrated after the war in the US and as a US soldier died in the Vietnam War. Musically a good song, but it takes time until you perceive it at all right, because it sounds at first after 10 Sabaton songs at once, therefore seems to be first interchangeable. Meanwhile, I do not want to have to do without it! (8.5 / 10)
9. Far From the Fame: A Surprise? No, but it wants the 9th song of the album also not be. There was already plenty of other surprises on the album. What stands out the song of past exploits as so often the refrain, but nevertheless after "Was there ever" sounds. Nevertheless, a solid song. (7.5 / 10)
10. Hearts of Iron: The endpoint of the regular album forms "Hearts of Iron". The song is about Walther Wenck, General of the 12th Army of the Armed Forces who was to defend Berlin to the last man to Hitler's orders, but this did not export. Instead, he built an escape corridor and so enabled 250,000 Berliners escaping from the city.
The musical adaptation remains immediately after the 1st time hearing in my head, which is not least due to a certain melody that comes here as a guitar solo to use and familiar to everyone :) (8.5 / 10)
11. 7734: The first bonus track also knows how to please. The number 7734 means something like "Hell". Short to Race: Typing these numbers in a calculator (or another device) and turns the whole 180 ° is "Hell" out. The song itself is but of course not from evil calculators who want to take over the world per se ^^ What the song in fact is I do not know the best of intentions but also because of the bonus tracks there are neither explanations nor Lyrics in digipack. Too bad ... but the song is still good! (8.5 / 10)
12. Man of War: The 2nd bonus track is quite ok, but nothing special. Here one needs no explanation as before at "7734", because the title says it all, what is at stake in the song. A final assessment of the heroes of the war. (7.5 / 10)

Conclusion: "Heroes" is ganau what fans were expecting. Risks are basically not Come in, because you change the direction of too much grumbling fans rum. If you change too little they grumble and rum. The middle ground is the solution here. Who previously could start anything with Sabaton should not access also. Who Sabaton fan is access MUST!
