Blackoustic (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Many have tried, few have succeeded. With his Finnish countryman and good friend Jani Liimatainen be Stratovarius Goldkehlchen Timo Kotipelto has made the journey through the Finnish clubs to present numerous classics from different genres into a whole new musical guise, without electronic bells and whistles, without double bass drums, just worn by Janis guitar and Timo breathtaking voice. In addition to Stratovarius classics as "Black Diamond", "Hunting High and Low", or "Speed of Light" that are true double bass Stampfer in its original form, and were transformed on this CD in cuddly numbers for the cold season, are also numerous other classics like "Behind Blue Eyes", "Out in the Fields", "Where My Rainbow Ends" and even songs from Kotipelto own band reprocessed, such as "Sleep Well" and "Serentiy". And the two Finns do it with any number, not drift into kitsch, which already many other musicians have managed, who wanted to transform their Metal Stamper in acoustic numbers. My absolute favorite on this CD is "Coming Home", which already is a (semi-) ballad is in the original, but only with vocals and guitar just sounds breathtakingly beautiful.
Timo's voice comes to my mind on "Blackoustic" significantly better advantage than in his main band and he also shows that he has a wonderful voice, which can be both powerful and gentle. Meanwhile, he can not nearly as high as we shall sing "Visions" times, however, does not detract from the atmosphere of the album.
Conclusion: Those who are Stratovarius Kotipelto or fans should be able to safely access here. At first I was a little surprised about this concept, but after I saw how perfectly the two Finns harmonize, I threw caution to the wind and brought me the CD.
