A Streetcar Named Disaster (MP3 Download)

Customer Review

Since early October, this album is already available through Chris Olley's website, therefore I have the honor to possess it already. "Who is Chris Olley?" Will wonder now many. When I reply that he was the frontman of the eternally underrated Nottingham alternative rock band Six.by Seven, only few is certainly helped. That's somewhere sad, but not because the unlearned one can dare without prejudice to this album.
For a Six.by Seven fan, as I am with body and soul, the switch from alternative / psychedelic rock to singer and songwriter style was not easy to cope with. Olley want musically completely start from scratch and has to be omitted all (musical) ballast at this album and be confined to his creativity and his guitars. Every now and then a little Mellotron is, but on the whole, we are dealing with a quiet largely acoustic album.
There are also a couple of tracks that would still fit Six.by Seven. "Fear is a lie" is as far as the extremely great. "Sleepwalking" on the other hand is a beautiful acoustic track, which suggests how the animated title to dream.

It's Chris Olley's first solo album and it is not yet perfect ergo, but it's expandable and leaves you wanting more.

On YouTube you can see the video for "In Too Deep".
