I'll get nothing on this album ...

This message in 2007 was initially hard to believe. But in between layers, starting from the last official studio album "The Long Run" (1979), actually 28 (!) Years ... Well ... The unforgettable "Hell Freezes Over" made in 1994 ever germinate hope of a comeback. This masterful live recording includes the in my opinion best version of "Hotel California" that has ever been made ...

Oh ... do not forget the successful and very nice surprise single "Hole In The World", the newly released in 2003 and also in the 2003s - Greatest Hits - (!) Is album which is also jam-packed with all major Songs 1972-2003 ...

Otherwise you had in the meantime be content with solo albums of Don Henley or Glen Frey, who also turned out quite passable. The solo CD's from the 80s, especially from Don Henley (the "brought forth, inter alia, the" World-Wide-hit "The Boys Of Summer), I found at least very good. Unfortunately, the productions and the musical arrangement was then still very much on the Sound of the 80 designed. When I hear that today, so I'm wondering how I could bear this synth bombast and the rattling drums with the typical 80-bombast (Hall ...). But the "songwriting" was also here perfectly . Don Henley and Glen Frey delivered as always very beautiful song from. Not always with the typical sound of the Eagles 1970 comparable, but with a clear recognition factor ..

"The Long Road Out Of Eden" is an "intermediate thing" from the styles of solo phases of Henley, Frey and Walsh and newer Eagles plates, especially the last studio album, "The Long Run" from 1979. Also is much musical variety on "The Long Road Out Of Eden "guaranteed; thanks to the presence and composition of such a strong "heads" as Walsh or Henley ...

The musical charm of "Desperado", "On The Border" or the first publication in 1972, however, is missing here. But there are songs on a high level, I think ...

Due to the amount of pieces, it is after all a DoCD with 20 (!) Songs, it's not always easy to see that level to hold throughout. But the title song alone is an absolute masterpiece for me. Beyond any doubt! And the beautiful "Waiting In The Weeds" as well ... to give you goosebumps ...

In between are insinuating Eagles standards such as "I Do not Want To Hear Any More," "I Love To Watch A Woman Dance", "Do Something", "Somebody '," How Long "," It's Your World Now "( Southwestern like Tequila Sunrise by Frey) or the beautiful acapella song "No More Walks In The Woods" (which would have liked to have been a bit longer). Or rock-funky as "Fast Company" ... And do not forget the straighte "Last Good Time In Town" by Joe Walsh. First class! This is followed by that of the song "Guilty Of The Crime" ... Also good and sung by Joe Walsh ...

Who, like me, the Eagles might come to this DoCD fail not. I let nothing come upon them ...

Too bad that this again is almost 8 years old and probably unfortunately nothing new pending more ...
