I can only advise against this router and recommend a little more to spend on a device from another manufacturer.

Firstly, I did not get the .V2 EU but the .V1 for which there is no firmware updates. The firmware is at 2005 levels, there is also a newer for .V2 not, so I think that is no longer supported by the router SMC.

Updates would, however badly needed, since the admin interface as well as does not work in modern browsers (probably similar for parallel HTTP requests). Man runs into timeouts and then make changes until ever anything goes (Firefox + Chrome) the individual frames. In addition, the firewall does not seem to function properly, then on my computer eindrudeln often packages that need to be actually blocked.

In addition, the authentication is IP based and thus easy to get around from the internal network by packet manipulation. If you want to use the provided by the router DNS server, you have to adjust to extremely long waits.

Conclusion: Even though the hardware may be OK, SMC has failed to provide a bug free firmware for the device. Too Bad.
