Both adapter rings are to be used, otherwise abuts the extension end lens to the converter for the Tele Converter.
The adapter is made of aluminum and makes a very sophisticated look. The threads are processed just as clean and the tube can be easily screwed to the camera.
For me, the adapter always remains on the Tele Converter, because otherwise I do not own additional lenses for Nikon,
